Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Second Grade Self-Contained Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will provide instruction to a diverse group of students with varying learning needs within a self-contained classroom setting. We are looking for someone with strong classroom management and differentiation skills. You will collaborate closely with the Second grade team, students, and families to promote academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence.
Duties (including but not limited to)
- Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards and tailored to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities.
- Utilize educational technology tools and innovative teaching strategies to enhance literacy, math, communication skills, and overall academic achievement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to create a safe and productive learning environment.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with teaching team and grade level administrator
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for elementary or special education in the applicable region.
- Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained setting; experience with second grade is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for students with diverse learning styles and needs; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth and independence for all students.

Pay: $74,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
