Responsibilities of this position include…
- Guide and direct HVAC maintenance technician and general maintenance technicians in performance of the HVAC program
- Performs basic repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment; performs basic electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance; installs component parts on classroom and office equipment and facility components to provide a safe and functional environment.
- Inspects buildings and equipment to ensure equipment, including installed items such as pumps and alarms, are operating properly and buildings are maintained properly.
- Assists other skilled workers in specific trades as directed.
- Responds to emergency situations, power failures, storm damage, and water pipe failures.
- Assist in all aspects of a project such as design, layout, material requirements, cost and labor estimates.
- Performs all assigned work in a safe manner. This includes using all safety equipment when required and maintaining all tools in a safe operating condition. Maintains equipment, work space, and job sites in a clean and orderly way. Empties trash containers on campus daily.
- Complies with college policy, local, state, and federal laws and procedures for the use, storage, and disposal of waste, cleaners, chemicals, and all other products and materials used in performing duties.
- Keeps records of work completed and reports issues concerning work assigned to immediate supervisor. Maintains equipment, work space and job sites in a clean and orderly way.
- Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
- Clean condenser coils
- Change equipment air filters
- Conduct performance tests with specialized tools and adjust system settings
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
- Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
- Ensure compliance with appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Other department tasks as assigned
Job Requirements include…
· Universal HVAC license
· 5-10 years of commerical HVAC experience
· Multi-building experience preferred
· Valid unrestricted drivers license
· Basic knowledge of computer operation for use of energy management system
