GRP Connecting Rods is a leading manufacturer of high-performance aluminum connecting rods for the racing industry. We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Machinist to join our manufacturing team. Position Summary
The Machinist is responsible for operating CNC and conventional machining equipment to manufacture high-performance race car connecting rods. This position includes loading raw materials, monitoring machine operations, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
- Load raw forgings and blanks into production machines.
- Monitor machine cycles to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
- Deburr and finish machined components.
- Record production data and report equipment issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or machining experience preferred.
- CNC machining experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic shop math skills.
- Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday – Friday
- 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Overtime may be available based on production needs.
