Position Overview
Are you a natural leader with a passion for landscaping? We’re looking for a motivated and organized Landscape Enhancements Crew Lead to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading assigned crew members, completing landscape enhancement tasks according to work tickets, and ensuring high-quality results on every job site.
You’ll also help train and mentor crew members, communicate with customers and Account Managers as needed, and maintain a safe, efficient, and professional work environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on landscaping work and is ready to take on a leadership role.
This is a seasonal, non-exempt position eligible for overtime.

What You’ll Do
Quality Responsibilities
Lead and guide crew members in performing landscape enhancement tasks while ensuring quality results.
Plant trees and shrubs, lay sod, construct small retaining walls, create rock and mulch beds, and establish bed edges.
Prepare soil for flower beds, groundcover, and turf installation, ensuring proper depth, placement, and spacing.
Apply mulch correctly based on material, plant needs, and location.
Perform pruning on trees and shrubs and ensure proper watering and plant maintenance.
Conduct turf core aeration and ensure lots, ramps, beds, and work areas are clean and professional.
Conduct final walkthroughs to ensure completed work meets quality standards.
Inspect the quality of materials upon delivery to job sites and report any concerns.
Production Management
Communicate with customers and/or Account Managers to address on-site requests, questions, and performance concerns.
Identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency and discuss them with the Production Supervisor and Production Manager.
Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet customer needs, project deadlines, and weather-related changes.
Arrive prepared and ready to begin daily tasks on time.
Provide feedback and jobsite notes upon completion of enhancement tasks.
Contribute to tailgate talks by sharing observations, safety reminders, and production concerns.
Staff Management
Assist in training and developing crew members by providing direction, coaching, and ongoing support.
Log crew members in and out of Aspire daily.
Provide feedback on crew performance to the Production Manager and Production Supervisors.
Monitor crew safety and provide corrections as needed in the field.
Help maintain a positive, productive, and respectful crew environment.
Operational Policies & Procedures
Complete work tickets in Aspire, documenting issues, notes, or concerns accurately.
Take photos of completed work in Aspire to support accurate job documentation.
Perform quality assurance checks for landscape enhancement work using Sitefotos.
Follow company procedures for job setup, documentation, communication, and closeout.
Safety Responsibilities
Assist with maintaining crew equipment, trucks, trailers, tools, and facilities.
Report safety concerns to the Production Supervisor and Production Manager.
Safely operate pruning tools, chainsaws, edgers, power washers, and other landscape enhancement equipment.
Complete and maintain all required safety training through Greenius.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment for assigned tasks.
Perform preventative equipment checks to support safe and efficient operations.
Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, tools, equipment, and first aid kits.
What We’re Looking For
✔️ Leadership Skills – Proven ability to lead, mentor, coach, and motivate a team.
✔️ Landscape Enhancement Knowledge – Experience with planting, pruning, mulching, turf preparation, small hardscape projects, and general landscape enhancement work.
✔️ Physical Strength & Stamina – Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently and up to 80 lbs with assistance.
✔️ Communication Skills – Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, Account Managers, crew members, and supervisors.
✔️ Problem-Solving Ability – Able to troubleshoot issues, make sound decisions in the field, and ask for support when needed.
✔️ Dependability – Consistently reports to work on time, follows through on assigned tasks, and completes work accurately and efficiently.
✔️ Team-Oriented Attitude – Works well with others and contributes to a positive, respectful work environment.
✔️ Safety-Conscious Mindset – Committed to following safety protocols and ensuring safe work practices for the crew.
✔️ Licensing Readiness – Willingness to obtain a Category A & E Pesticide Applicator License within one year, if required for the role.
Your Schedule
Average Workweek: 8–10 hours per day, Monday through Friday, typically April through October.
Flexible Hours: Schedule may vary depending on project needs, workload, and weather conditions.
Weekend Work: Occasional weekends, or extended hours may be required during peak seasons or to complete projects.
