Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools safely and efficiently
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pizza flavors and toppings to enhance customer offerings
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, including sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques
- Support food production during high-volume periods by efficiently managing multiple orders simultaneously
- Execute cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food preparation methods like knife skills and food plating
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to safety guidelines
Requirements
- Proven experience in food industry roles with a focus on pizza or restaurant cooking; culinary experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
- Demonstrated skill in food handling, recipe adherence, and meal preparation across various cooking techniques including grilling and braising
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is a plus; familiarity with menu planning is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and understanding of food safety standards are essential for success in this role
