Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optician, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care services and eyewear solutions. This position will be split between our Meridian Office and Caldwell office. In this energetic position, you will assist patients with selecting and fitting eyewear, ordering eyewear and contact lenses, dispense spectacles and contact lenses, and ensure compliance with health regulation policies. Your expertise in optics, medical terminology, and customer service will help create a positive experience for every patient.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear frames and lenses based on their prescriptions, lifestyle, and preferences.
- Dispense spectacles and contact lenses accurately, ensuring proper fit and comfort through precise eyewear fittings and adjustments.
- Maintain detailed medical records while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about eyewear options.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the optical area.
Requirements
- Prior optometry or ophthalmology experience is highly preferred, along with a solid understanding of ophthalmology principles.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health, anatomy, physiology, and clinical confidentiality policies is essential.
- Familiarity with compulink is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Understanding of state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance standards, and health regulation policies governing ophthalmology practices.
- Ability to perform eyewear frame adjustments accurately while maintaining high-quality standards.
Willingness to stay updated on new optical technologies, lens options, and regulatory changes impacting the optician role.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
