The Ideal Candidate:
This role is for junior to mid-level carpenter / remodeling laborer who loves the craft of renovating Pittsburgh houses. To excel in this role, you'll need a foundational knowledge of carpentry along with a willingness to perform and/or learn other phases of construction and remodeling--drywall, paint, tile, etc. Under the direction of a Lead Carpenter or Project Manager, the ideal candidate will be able to work semi-independently through defined goals for the day and week. Consider this to be a step up from "Helper" but still a step below "Lead Carpenter."
Work assignments will cover all phases of construction with most the common tasks falling under the broad umbrella of residential carpentry. Other important duties include completing Punch Lists and miscellaneous tasks that aren’t easily transferred to subcontractors but still need completed to keep remodel projects moving forward. If you have interest or skill in multiple trades, those additional capabilities would be highly valued and put to good use.
The ideal candidate will show an aptitude for balancing speed, quality, and client experience. We're looking for someone who:
- confidently takes ownership of tasks and acts with a sense of urgency
- notices the small details and takes pride in their work
- anticipates the next step in the workflow and sets others up for success
- enjoys working alongside Interior Designers and Architects
- is equally comfortable renovating a 1890s rowhouse, a post-war Cape Cod, or a 1990s McMansion
- treats client's homes like their own home (or better)
