Assembly Technician
Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670
Shift: 1st Shift | Start Time: 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: $18.00 $22.00/hour DOE

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to assemble piping systems, equipment, and prefabricated assemblies used in water infrastructure applications. This role is responsible for reading mechanical drawings and bill of materials, assembling PVC piping systems, mounting components, performing hydrostatic testing, and preparing finished products for shipment.
The ideal candidate has mechanical assembly experience, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality and precision are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical equipment, piping systems, and prefabricated assemblies according to engineering drawings and work instructions
- Read and interpret:
- Mechanical drawings
- Piping schematics
- Layout drawings
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Assembly instructions
- Build PVC pipe spools from fabrication drawings
- Layout and assemble instrument panels and equipment enclosures
- Install mechanical components according to project specifications
- Perform hydrostatic (hydro) testing to verify leak-free assemblies
- Package, label, and prepare completed products for final inspection and shipment
- Utilize hand and power tools including:
- Wrenches
- Socket sets
- Drills
- Taps
- Punches
- Saws
- Measuring tools
- Verify component fit, alignment, and assembly quality
- Maintain accurate production documentation
- Maintain clean and organized workstations
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
- Support production goals while maintaining high quality standards
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience using:
- Wrenches
- Socket sets
- Drills
- Taps
- Punches
- Saws
- Measuring devices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask in a production environment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational or technical training
- Experience with:
- PVC piping
- Pipe spool fabrication
- Mechanical assembly
- Water infrastructure equipment
- Manufacturing or fabrication environments
- Experience working independently and within a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and stooping throughout the shift
- Frequent use of hands and arms for assembly tasks
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work safely around production equipment and machinery
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing and assembly environment with exposure to:

- Moderate to high noise levels
- Indoor manufacturing conditions with varying temperatures
