Adjunct faculty members provide instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, as needed basis. Courses may be seated, online, or hybrid.
Part-time faculty postings are a part of Catawba Valley Community College's efforts to expand our pool of adjunct instructors. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time, however, applications from qualified applicants will be kept on file and may be contacted at a later date.
Provide effective instruction to students online and/or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to measure student performance.
Ensure teaching and working environment (classroom, lab, shop) by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards.
Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines.
Provides laboratory and/or clinical education for dental assisting students
Provides input for program assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
Supports department standards in operating the program as well as the objectives and mission of the institution
Works with laboratory and/or clinical course instructors to accomplish the goals of education
Utilizes data concerning teaching activities including progress and achievement of students
All adjunct positions are contingent upon enrollment needs and funding.

Copies of all unofficial degree transcripts, including coursework completed and degree conferred, must be provided during the on-line application process. Official transcripts are required to be forwarded to the CVCC Human Resources Office upon hire.
