POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Company’s building and grounds in a manner that minimizes interruptions in warehouse operations and assures employee safety for 2nd Shift.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor building system operations and performance.
- Possess several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on all mechanical assets impacting the operation of the facility. Including but not limited to Material Handling Equipment, Ammonia Refrigeration Equipment, Office HVAC, Dock Doors, Dock Plates, Facility Physical Structures, and Exterior Grounds.
- Install and repair electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic components, and systems.
- Check and maintain HVAC systems to ensure they are functioning properly. Clean unit coils, replace filters and adjust according to outside temperature as directed.
- Repair all mechanical equipment as directed.
- Keep a log of maintenance performed.
- Walk-through building spaces regularly to check for temperature irregularities.
- Electrical including interior/exterior bulbs/ballast replacement, plumbing, painting, and carpentry as required.
- Maintain building exteriors for garbage, sweep lots and walks as needed.
- Snow/salt or other groundwork as required.
- Miscellaneous trouble shooting and problem solving.
- Maintain life safety and building security.
- Inspect roofs and drains regularly.
- Diagnose and repair defective equipment using prints, service manuals and parts catalogs.
- Maintains and follows the Process Safety Management requirements as required by OSHA and EPA for ammonia refrigeration systems
- Maintain and follow all company safety and compliance policies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)
- Mechanical background
- Basic welding experience desired
- Experience performing building maintenance, material handling equipment maintenance or ammonia refrigeration maintenance preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the staff.
- Possess problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit and be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including evenings and weekends, if needed.
