Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project requirements.
- Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication.
- Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal materials utilizing plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment.
- Fabricate metal components by welding, grinding, fitting, and finishing parts to meet strict quality standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, inspecting equipment regularly, and following OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings for complex projects involving metal fabrication and mechanical assembly.
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience or background in metal fabrication environments.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW; familiarity with AWS standards is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and understanding of plasma cutting processes.
- Mechanical knowledge of tools such as power tools, hand tools, machining equipment, and safety devices.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and fabrication shops.
- Ability to work on construction sites or shop environments with a focus on quality craftsmanship and efficiency.
