Energize your teaching career by making a difference as a Dyslexia Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with both Special Education and General Education students (caseload of approximately 25), focusing primarily on the Early Childhood through 6th grade level. There may also be potential to work with Upper School students. Your expertise will be instrumental in implementing interventions to support diverse learning needs.
You’ll work collaboratively within a supportive school environment, Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM. The campus utilizes Reading by Design, so training or certification in this program (or in Basic Language Skills) is highly valued. Active participation in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings is required, making strong communication skills essential.
Key Qualifications:
- Texas Educator License with both Special Education and Generalist/Core endorsements required.
- Experience supporting students with dyslexia in educational settings.
- Familiarity with Reading by Design or Basic Language Skills curriculum is preferred.
- Prior involvement in ARD meetings and comfort in contributing to these sessions.
- Commitment to upholding the school’s dress code and professional standards.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver small-group and individualized literacy instruction to students with dyslexia and learning differences.
- Track student progress and document outcomes.
- Collaborate regularly with instructional staff, parents, and ARD committees.
- Create inclusive, equitable learning environments for all students.
- Adhere to district policies and contribute positively to the school’s culture.
