Marathon Staffing is seeking a reliable, hard working, maintenance worker for a temp-to-hire position in Pensacola, FL!!
This class makes general repairs and performs maintenance on County facilities as determined by a supervisor and area of specialty and may make simple repairs and adjustments to machines and equipment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on applicable facilities, tools, and equipment
- Identifies, troubleshoots, tests, adjusts, and repairs minor problems related to facilities, machines, and equipment in assigned area of responsibility; notifies appropriate individual(s) of problems requiring advanced troubleshooting and/or repair
- Operates a variety of specialized tools and equipment in performing repair and maintenance activities
- Prepares and maintains logs and records of daily activities
- Installs equipment, light fixtures, and/or other applicable items; disassembles and reassembles equipment to replace worn and/or faulty parts
- Monitors tool, supplies, and equipment inventory; notifies appropriate individual(s) when inventory needs to be replenished
- Inspects, cleans, and maintains County vehicles
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
- Positions assigned to County Extension may be responsible for:
- Assisting in administering herd health and feed program
- Caring for livestock
- Mowing and weed eating camp facilities
- Preparing grounds and facilities for special events
- Positions assigned to Parks and Recreation may be responsible for:
- Setting up and tearing down a variety of events
- Watering and dragging equestrian areas
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and food areas
Positions assigned to Roads and Bridges may be responsible for:
- Operating various light to medium motorized vehicles, such as a small dump truck, small front-end loader, skid loader, farm tractor, bush hog, boom axe, back hoe, etc., in the accomplishment of assigned tasks
- Performing strenuous manual labor, frequently using hand or small power tools
- Performing minor/preventive maintenance on and safety checks of assigned vehicle or equipment
- Loading/unloading truck by hand or by using a forklift or small loader
- Maintaining simple job and equipment records and completes simple forms
- Operating an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV)
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Training and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and up to one year of experience in area of specialty; or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence, for those who are required to operate a motor vehicle

Physical Requirements:
- Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing, finger and hand dexterity as well as repetitive motions.
- Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, work space restrictions, intense noises and travel.
