Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, ensuring consistency with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and recommend drinks or food pairings that enhance their experience.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety standards and health regulations.
- Develop new beverage recipes and contribute to menu updates to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and balance registers at the end of each shift with precision.
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours, including banquet or catering events if applicable.
- Monitor inventory levels of spirits, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies; place orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Provide excellent customer service by creating a welcoming atmosphere, addressing guest inquiries promptly, and managing any concerns professionally.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service practices by checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication to ensure guest safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender in fine dining or high-volume hospitality settings; cocktail experience and mixology skills are essential.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for processing transactions efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of beverage recipes, wine varieties, spirits, craft beers, and brewing processes; ability to develop new drink recipes is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly while maintaining professionalism.
- Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously during peak hours without compromising quality.
- Food handling certification or food safety knowledge preferred; experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly valued.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math understanding for inventory management, and accurate bill splitting when necessary.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special events such as banquets or catering functions.
- Hospitality industry experience that emphasizes teamwork, communication, and adaptability in fast-paced settings.
