Job Overview
Trindel Insurance Fund is seeking a detail-oriented Workers Compensation Claims Technician, to support accurate, timely, and confidential workers' compensation claims administration. This flexible-level recruitment may be filled at Technician I, II, or III based on qualifications and experience.
Key responsibilities
Receive, scan, index, distribute, and maintain claims correspondence and records.
Process mileage reimbursements, benefit notices, subpoenas, proof-of-service documents, and record requests as directed.
Prepare claim files for reviews, audits, litigation support, and defense-counsel referrals.
Run routine claims and compliance reports; answer calls and respond to routine inquiries.
Protect confidential medical, legal, personnel, and claims information.
Qualifications
Technician I: High school diploma/GED. Office, clerical, administrative, or records experience is desirable; insurance, workers' compensation, medical-records, or legal-documentation exposure is preferred but not required.
Technician II: High school diploma/GED plus two years of progressively responsible clerical or technical experience supporting workers' compensation, insurance claims, medical records, or legal documentation.
Technician III: High school diploma/GED plus three or more years of advanced related experience, including medical-records coordination, litigation support, or medical-only claims processing. Must pass the SIP exam to become a Technician III.
All levels: Strong organization, data entry, Microsoft Word/Excel, communication, confidentiality, and deadline-management skills. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Salary by level
Technician I: $45,000-$52,000 | Technician II: $52,000-$59,000 | Technician III: $59,000-$65,000
Placement within the applicable range depends on level, qualifications, and experience.
Work environment
Professional office setting in Weaverville, California. The role involves extended sitting, computer and office-equipment use, close visual work, communication by telephone and in person, occasional standing and reaching, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
