Overview
Integra-Cast is seeking a highly motivated Casting Engineer to support the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of aluminum investment and permanent mold casting processes for the aerospace industry. The Casting Engineer will work closely with customers, production, quality, tooling, and machining teams to ensure castings meet stringent aerospace quality, performance, and delivery requirements.
This position plays a critical role in new product introduction (NPI), existing product, process development, yield improvement, cost reduction, and manufacturing excellence while maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Process Engineering
- Develop and optimize casting processes for new and existing aluminum castings.
- Design and validate gating, riser, and feeding systems using engineering principles.
- Establish robust manufacturing processes that maximize yield, minimize scrap, and improve quality.
- Develop process parameters and manufacturing instructions for production.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead engineering activities from customer print through production launch.
- Review customer drawings and specifications for manufacturability.
- Coordinate tooling requirements with toolmakers and outside suppliers.
- Support first article inspections (FAI) and production validation.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis for casting defects utilizing methodologies such as:
- 8D
- Fishbone Diagram
- 5 Whys
- PFMEA
- DOE
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Reduce scrap, rework, and manufacturing cycle times.
Quality & Compliance
- Support compliance with:
- AS9100
- Customer specifications
- NADCAP requirements (when applicable)
- Participate in internal and customer audits.
- Ensure engineering documentation remains current and controlled.
Customer Support
- Participate in technical discussions with aerospace customers.
- Support customer audits and process reviews.
- Provide engineering responses to technical inquiries.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Education:
Experience:
- Manufacturing engineering: 5 years (Required)
- aerospace: 3 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Required)
