Duties
- Prepare and cook grilled items such as steaks, burgers, seafood, and vegetables according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with food prep tasks including chopping, marinating, portioning, and organizing ingredients for efficient service
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including grills, fryers, ovens, and food processors
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients that meet recipe specifications and presentation standards
- Ensure timely meal production during high-volume service periods while maintaining quality control
- Follow food production guidelines closely to uphold consistency and customer satisfaction
Experience
- Previous dietary aide or culinary experience in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and other cooking methods
- Proven ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in high-volume settings
- Excellent knife skills with an understanding of proper handling and safety protocols
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in fine dining or large-scale food production environments
- Background in dietary department work or food industry roles that emphasize food handling, serving, and catering experience is advantageous
