Centennial Medical Group (CMG) and our Urgent Care (UC) locations are looking for experienced professionals to provide excellent patient support in the Medical Ancillary field of our healthcare facilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills are vital to success in this position, as they often are a service point of contact for our patients and community. CMG Medical Technicians play a critical role in the success of our day-to-day operations by providing superior administrative support to ensure an efficient operation of the practice.
Purpose:
Perform routine medical tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. May work under the supervision of a medical technologist. Perform administrative and certain clinical duties. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
Tasks
· Analyze the results of tests or experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical or electrical devices.
· Analyze and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs, or narratives.
· Conduct blood tests for transfusion purposes and perform blood counts.
· Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of medical laboratory equipment.
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
- Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Schedule appointments for patients.
- Change dressings on wounds.
- Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
- Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
- Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
- Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
Education:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Experience:
2 years’ experience
Knowledge:
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, calibration, and troubleshooting within a healthcare or technical environment.
- Familiarity with OEM specifications, schematics, and technical manuals for medical or electronic devices.
- Experience working with CMMS software for maintenance scheduling and record keeping.
- Strong field service skills with the ability to travel between sites as needed.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, computer hardware, and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting purposes.
- Knowledge of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) standards and regulations related to healthcare device maintenance.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately; previous experience with calibration processes is a plus. Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
