Structural Framer / Finishing Carpenter

Summary
Advanced Technology Systems Company (ATSC) is seeking an experienced, hands-on experienced framer who can be handed a set of drawings and a deadline and deliver clean, code-correct structural work with minimal oversight. Metal stud framing experience is strongly preferred, though seasoned wood framers with strong finish carpentry and drywall skills will also be considered. This role sits at the core of our build schedule, and the quality and pace of this work directly shapes downstream production and delivery timelines.
The Structural Framer / Finish Carpenter is responsible for constructing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining structural and interior components within manufacturing,
engineering, laboratory, and office environments supporting aerospace and government defense programs. This position performs skilled carpentry work including structural framing, finishing carpentry,
fabrication, and facility improvements while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, quality standards, and security requirements.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced working in industrial or manufacturing facilities where precision, craftsmanship, and schedule adherence are critical.
This position reports into Production/Construction Operations and works closely with carpentry, Drywall, and finishing crews to keep structural builds on schedule. Framing quality
and pace set the tempo for everything that follows, so this role carries real visibility with production leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Structural Framing: Perform metal stud framing (preferred) or wood framing to plan and specification, ensuring square, plumb, and code-correct structures.

Finish Carpentry & Drywall: Complete finish carpentry work and drywall installation/repair to a clean, professional standard.

Drawing & Spec Interpretation: Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and job specifications independently, flagging discrepancies before they become downstream problems.

Materials Handling: Lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs across the job site safely and efficiently.

Schedule-Driven Execution: Work safely and efficiently in hot and cold weather conditions to keep builds on pace regardless of environmental challenges.

Cross-Trade Collaboration: Coordinate with carpentry, drywall, electrical, and production teams to sequence work without creating downstream delays.

Scope Flexibility: Treat framing and carpentry as primary responsibilities while remaining available to assist with other job-related tasks as production needs shift.

Schedule Reliability: Maintain punctual, dependable attendance and flex into overtime, including select weekends, to protect build schedules.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government contractors

Minimum 4–5 years of professional framing experience

Demonstrated finish carpentry and drywall installation/repair skill

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and job specifications

Must provide own hand tools (company supplies all major tools and equipment)

Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Primarily office-based work environment. Exposure to dust, noise, construction materials, and changing environmental conditions.

Frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting, bending, reaching, and use of ladders or lifts.

Regularly required to sit, stand, operate a computer, climb stairs, and communicate effectively.

Must be able to lift 25–50 pounds.
