Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrical Lineworker to join our team. In this vital role, you will perform complex electrical work on overhead and underground power line systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards. Duties
- Install, repair, and replace high voltage power lines between generating stations and consumers, working at heights and often with energized lines.
- Climb poles or ride in bucket to remove broken or defective wires.
- Secure new wires and splice wire to complete circuits.
- Install poles and pole hardware; install and repair underground service.
- Answer emergency calls under varying weather conditions.
- Locate source of power line disturbances or failures.
- Test power lines on auxiliary equipment to identify defective voltage regulators, transformers, switches, and related accessories.
- Services equipment and vehicles and cleans buildings.
Requirements
- Certified completion of an accredited lineworker training program, including three and one-half years of experience as a crew member or apprentice in the installation and maintenance of electric power lines; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Possession and retention of a valid automobile driver's license and Commercial Driver's License with a Group A designation.
- This position will require the employee to take part in the department’s Standby Program which will require the employee to work outside of a normally scheduled workday and have a response time of 45 minutes or less.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an outdoor field work setting and will require the employee to work in adverse weather conditions. The employee must be able to climb and be comfortable working at heights. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay: $58.32 per hour
