Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and <PERSON> driver vehicles, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe driving practices
- Load, unload, and organize mail and packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as needed
- Drive assigned routes efficiently while maintaining accurate delivery records and adhering to scheduled timelines
- Interact professionally with customers, providing excellent customer service during deliveries and addressing inquiries or concerns politely
- Follow proper weight handling procedures for heavy lifting tasks to prevent injury and ensure safe workplace practices
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, route logs, and incident reports as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route driving and heavy lifting techniques
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with manual handling, pallet jacks, forklifts, or moving equipment is preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or <PERSON> driver vehicles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely using proper lifting practices; physical stamina for manual handling tasks is essential
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
