Job Summary:
Crane Operator is responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position and reposition loads. The operator controls crane functions by depressing buttons and foot pedals as well as manipulating levers.
$38-45 per hour
Must be NCCCO certified
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate carry deck cranes to lift, transport, and position materials and equipment.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks.
- Read and understand load charts to determine crane lifting capacities.
- Conduct safe rigging practices and verify proper load securement before lifting.
- Work closely with riggers, signal persons, and site supervisors during lifting operations.
- Perform precision lifts in confined or congested work areas.
- Inspect crane components and report mechanical issues or needed repairs.
- Maintain accurate inspection and maintenance records.
- Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with general labor or equipment operation when crane work is not required.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of rigging techniques, load charges, and hand signals.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy objects and work in challenging environments.
Job Requirements:
- Must be up-to-date on OSHA safety standards and willing to comply with them.
- Familiarity with all necessary safety equipment.
- Able to sit, stand, bend, and lift to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolding without issue.
- Must be reliable, hardworking, and have a team player mentality.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience
