Monarch Place is seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Dining Services to lead our culinary and dining program. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality-focused leader who takes pride in great food, strong teams, excellent service, and creating memorable dining experiences for seniors.
As Director of Dining Services, you will oversee all aspects of the community's dining operation, including menu planning, food preparation, ordering and inventory, staffing, scheduling, sanitation, and overall resident satisfaction.

Lead the overall dining services and culinary program for the community.

Design and plan menus that provide residents with appealing, nutritious, and enjoyable dining options.

Oversee food preparation, presentation, portion control, and service to ensure consistent quality.

Create an inviting, restaurant-style dining experience for residents and guests.

Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop dining and kitchen team members.

Maintain appropriate staffing levels while promoting teamwork and accountability.

Conduct weekly inventory of food, supplies, and dining service items and place orders as needed.

Monitor food costs, purchasing, waste, and inventory to support efficient department operations.

Ensure food is prepared and served at appropriate temperatures and meets established quality standards.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and kitchen organization.

Ensure compliance with applicable food service regulations, community policies, and safety requirements.

Work closely with the Executive Director and other department leaders to support resident satisfaction and community events.

Listen to resident feedback and continually look for ways to enhance the dining experience.

Perform other duties as assigned.
The Director of Dining Services reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the dining department.
This position supervises dining services associates, provides training and coaching, participates in performance evaluations, and addresses performance or disciplinary matters when necessary. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently, making decisions, and taking ownership of the department.
The ideal candidate will have:

Culinary degree or equivalent culinary training.

Food service supervisory certification.

ServSafe certification.

Additional restaurant sanitation certification preferred.

At least 5 years of progressively responsible culinary or food service experience, preferably in senior living, hospitality, hotel, resort, restaurant, or another high-volume dining environment.

Previous experience leading and developing a culinary or dining team.

Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, inventory management, and kitchen operations.

Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.

A passion for hospitality and creating an exceptional dining experience.

Ability to balance culinary quality with department budgets and operational goals.
Throughout the workday, this position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, turn, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, reach overhead, grasp with both hands, and perform fine manipulation. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
