Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children’s developmental progress using standardized testing methods and observational techniques.
- Collaborate with families through regular communication to share progress, address concerns, and foster strong partnerships.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of child welfare and safety procedures.
- Incorporate specialized instruction such as special education strategies or early intervention techniques to support diverse learners.
- Lead classroom activities that promote physical movement, social skills, and cognitive development tailored to preschool and toddler care.
- Maintain up-to-date certifications in first aid and CPR while adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.
- Proficiency in teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, and Montessori methods is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to foster a collaborative learning community.
- Skilled in lesson planning that incorporates age-appropriate activities aligned with developmental milestones.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and childhood welfare policies.
- Experience managing classrooms with low ratios to ensure personalized attention for each child.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and child safety regulations; certification in first aid and CPR required.
