Join our emergency response team as a Fire Apparatus Operator, where you will play a vital role in protecting lives, property, and the environment. In this fast-paced role, you will operate fire apparatus and specialized equipment while responding to fires, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies. Duties
- Safely operate fire apparatus and emergency vehicles during emergency and non-emergency responses.
- Perform pump operations and operate firefighting, rescue, and emergency response equipment.
- Respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergency calls.
- Perform firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical duties in accordance with department policies and certifications.
- Inspect, clean, test, maintain, and restock apparatus, equipment, and station facilities to ensure operational readiness.
- Complete required reports, records, and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Participate in training, public education, fire prevention, and community outreach activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year of experience as a career firefighter, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Class F driver's license:
- NPQ Firefighter I
- NPQ Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations
- GEMA or other approved Vehicle Extrication certification
