Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at the Perry Pet Perry Office location. In this role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of our patients while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for animals.
- Perform animal handling tasks, including restraining pets for examinations, treatments, nails trims, and blood draws.
- Maintain cleanliness in the clinic by cleaning kennels, surgical areas, and examination rooms.
- General housekeeping including laundry, vacuuming, and mopping.
- Set up laboratory tests such as fecals and blood samples under supervision.
- Feeding, walking, and monitoring our boarding and in house patients.
- Washing instruments, preparing and sterilizing surgical packs.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status during their stay at the clinic or hospital.
Qualifications
- Experience in veterinary settings is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Comfortable in handling various types of animals, including dogs and cats.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners is crucial for success in this role.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
