Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Seasonal Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for the development, organization, implementation, and management of the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad and overall aquatic operation, including aquatic Special Events and Water Park Concessions

Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, onboarding, and supervising all Bensenville Park District Aquatic employees.

Serve as a highly visible leader, coach, and mentor while certifying 1 pool manager, 5 asst. pool managers, 70+ lifeguards, and swim instructors in accordance with American Red Cross safety standards.

Host and lead regular meetings of key part-time staff, in-services, or other required/necessary trainings.

Responsible for the on-site supervision of all aquatic staff, managing facilities, rentals and birthday parties, preparing and upholding budgets, and implementing programs and Water Park special events.

Responsible for managing customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to the Water Park & Splash Pad, including swim lessons and programming. Answer phone calls and emails from patrons and handle appropriately. Troubleshoot customer service issues that may arise.
- Demonstrate and support all park district customer service policies and procedures.
- A bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation or related field and/or relevant work experience.

Minimum of 3-4 years of experience leading a team in an aquatic environment of similar size and capacity is desirable.

Certified in CPR/AED trainer or the ability to acquire prior to employment.

Certified Pool Operator or the ability to acquire prior to employment.

Certified Lifeguard Trainer or the ability to acquire prior to employment.

Must be energetic, have a positive attitude, and be encouraging.

Must have the ability to monitor program and department budgets; submit bills and receipts for payment.
JOB STATUS Full-Time, Seasonal DEPARTMENT Recreation FSLA STATUS Non-Exempt
SALARY $25-$30/Hour
HOURS February – 10 Hours/week; March – 15 Hours/week; April – 30 Hours/week; May-Sept – 40 Hours/week. Hours are subject to change based on park district needs. Evening and weekend hours are to be expected.
