Division/Program Summary:
Early Intervention (EI) is a comprehensive interagency program that supports infants and children with developmental delays in their efforts to realize their full potential. The EI Outreach Unit conducts outreach and educational activities Citywide to raise awareness of early childhood development and the Early Intervention Program. A key tool for identifying children in need of EI Services is developmental screening conducted by professionals of all disciplines, caretakers and parents, using a validated instrument such as the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).
