Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, entry-level Data Research & Data Entry Specialist to support our sales, marketing, and business development teams by researching, cleaning, updating, and maintaining accurate contact information.
This is a part-time position to start, with the potential to grow for the right candidate. The role is structured and accuracy-driven. Much of the work is repetitive by nature and focuses on researching professional contacts, verifying email and phone information, reviewing company websites, cleaning spreadsheets, identifying duplicates, and keeping internal contact records up to date.
The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable with detailed research, and interested in learning how accurate data supports marketing, business development, and sales outreach. There is room to grow for someone who is proactive, accurate, and able to identify better ways to find, clean, and update contact records over time.
Prior experience with industry platforms, CRM systems, databases, or contact research is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
This position supports contact research, CRM data quality, and list maintenance through the following core tasks:
- Research professional contacts using approved online platforms, company websites, directories, and internal resources
- Locate and verify names, job titles, email addresses, phone numbers, company names, and other contact details
- Enter new contact information into internal systems
- Review existing records and correct missing, outdated, duplicate, or inaccurate information
- Compare newly researched contacts against existing lists to identify duplicates, gaps, and new usable contacts
- Clean and organize spreadsheets for review, CRM upload, or internal use
- Help assign contacts by territory, owner, city, county, ZIP code, or other available data when applicable
- Track daily work clearly, including sources reviewed, records researched, usable contacts found, duplicates, incomplete records, blockers, and next steps
- Flag unclear or questionable information before making assumptions
- Suggest better sources, processes, or methods for finding, cleaning, and updating contact records over time
The majority of the role is focused on research, verification, spreadsheet cleanup, and accurate data entry.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to perform repetitive, detail-focused tasks consistently
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet tools
- Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and defined processes
- Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
- Clear written communication and reliable status updates
- Comfortable researching company websites and professional contact information
- Willingness to learn internal data standards and commercial real estate terminology
- Ability to ask good questions when information is unclear
Optional, Nice to Have
- Prior data entry or research experience
- Comfort working with business contact information
- Experience with CRM systems or contact databases
- Experience cleaning spreadsheets or identifying duplicate records
- Experience with Costar, broker/advisor research, or commercial real estate data
- Basic Python, website scraping, or automation experience is a plus, but not required
Growth Potential
This role starts with structured data research and CRM cleanup. Additional hours, increased compensation, or a transition to full-time may be considered after the initial review period based on demonstrated performance, accuracy, reliability, communication, role fit, department workload, and business needs.
