Our locally owned hospital seeks a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to provide compassionate legendary client service and excellent patient care for our dog and cat patients. Employees must build positive, professional relationships with other staff members and clients. Employees demonstrate honesty, integrity, and respect for others. Technicians must demonstrate improvement and mastery of technical skills and reliably execute these skills. This role is critical in our team approach to support and honor the human animal bond through maximizing patient health.
Responsibilities and Duties Include but not limited to:
Assist with entering medical information in the electronic medical records
Assist ensuring clients are charged accurately for services and products
Restrain for and/or perform sample collection (blood, urine)
Gather information, products, and prescriptions for patients and clients
Assist at the front desk, answering phones, making appointments, processing payments
Educate clients regarding preventive care and treatment instructions
Assist in anesthetizing and monitoring patients
Assist with surgery and dentistry
Position for and process radiographs
Use equipment to perform laboratory tests
Perform routine hospital and equipment maintenance
Maintain awareness of the safety and security of patients in our facility
Be sensitive to patient and client emotion
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a veterinary facility is preferred
Understanding a variety of communication skills and techniques
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Veterinary Technician Associate's Degree and NC License preferred
Further degrees, certifications, or continuing education in the veterinary field is beneficial
