American Traveler is hiring a Level II NICU RN with EPIC experience and NY licensure required for an 8-week travel assignment.

Level II NICU unit within a Women's Health service line, focused on neonates 29-34 weeks rather than critical care
-
8-week contract with possibility of extension
-
Rotating 3x12 shifts, Day (0700-1900) and Night (1900-0700)

Rotating weekend requirement

Some floating to Post Partum for Baby Care

Must be able to attend high-risk deliveries and perform baby catch in OR for C-section cases

EPIC EMR experience required
-
Active NY RN license required in hand prior to submission
-
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
-
Current BLS and NRP certifications required
-
EPIC charting experience required
-
Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC management, and administration of blood and blood products
-
Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, surfactant administration, and emergency medications
-
Competency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Bubble CPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula
-
Experience with APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and developmental care
-
Skilled in phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and insulin administration
-
Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and placement/management of NG/NJ tubes
-
Knowledge of neonatal sepsis workup and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
-
Provide comprehensive Level II NICU care including high-risk delivery attendance and OR support for C-section deliveries
-
Deliver care for neonates with respiratory distress syndrome, hyperbilirubinemia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
-
Support breastfeeding and handling of breast milk, patient/family teaching, and phlebotomy
-
Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and suctioning (ETT, NT)
-
Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

First-time travelers are accepted

Returning staff must have at least 6 months since previous assignment system-wide
-
Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
