The Reynolds Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Geologist. You must be a motivated professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental work and technical report writing. You must hold, or will shortly hold, a license as a California Professional Geologist. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
As a Senior Geologist you will contribute to projects with the following responsibilities:
Fieldwork Planning and Oversight:
o Conduct site assessments using various drilling and sampling techniques.
o Oversee the installation of monitoring and remediation wells.
o Perform remediation pilot testing and system monitoring.
o Coordinate permitting activities.
· Report Writing and Technical Analysis:
o Prepare and review technical assessments, remediation, and status reports.
o Interpret project data, including contaminant fate and transport, groundwater flow, hydrogeological data, and chemical analysis.
o Evaluate remediation progress and support environmental risk assessments.
o Develop environmental management strategies.
Project Coordination:
o Collaborate with Project Managers to plan, coordinate, and implement environmental site assessments and remediation.
o Help develop work plans and budgets
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
· A bachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, or environmental engineering
· A master’s degree in the above is a plus
· License in California as a Professional Geologist or Registered Civil Engineer
· Demonstrated ability to write clear and thorough technical reports.
· Experience with various environmental drilling, sampling and remediation techniques
· Experience working with support staff in the field and office for the development and completion of field and reporting activities.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Planner)
· OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain ASAP).
· Trustworthy, communicative, reliable, and a team player.

Founded in 1989, The Reynolds Group is a boutique environmental engineering and contracting firm based in Tustin, California. We assess, remediate, and strategically consult on environmentally contaminated properties throughout Southern California. Our professional staff are geologists and civil engineers. Our team thrives in a dynamic, supportive, and casual work environment. The Reynolds Group provides flexible work hours, a high variety of work, and the potential for some remote work in addition to required time spent in the Tustin office.
We have curated an efficient group of highly experienced and technically agile professionals and pride ourselves on being passionate advocates for our clients. Our team of approximately twenty-five manages approximately fifty projects at a given time, which allows ample opportunity for staff to experience a variety of projects. We aim to grow 15% per year over the next four years. Our main product is the technical reports we send to government environmental regulators and clients. The reports must be accurate, complete, and uniform.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation ranges from $120,000 - $140,000 and is commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
WORK WEEK/ENVIRONMENT
This full-time position ensures the selected candidate has a minimum of 32 hours of work for benefits eligibility. The Reynolds Group believes that human interaction is especially important with our team as you grow and desire to take on increasing responsibility for and management of work. We believe that integration into our dynamic professional working environment can’t be done on a 100% remote basis.
After training, some hybrid work is allowed after initial onboarding/training in our Tustin office. We are committed to integrating you into our operations as soon as possible, so high human interaction is expected. Remote work reflects trust, communication, and productivity. · Eight (8) Paid US Holidays
· Mandated “Sick Time” per California regulations which accrues at 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
· Paid time off (PTO) equal to 80 hours per year that accrues weekly. PTO accrues after 90 days
· PTO and sick leave hours can be used at the employee’s discretion based on workload.
· Ability to take more time off without pay.
Retirement Savings
· Immediate ability to contribute to a 401(k) plan
· Participation in a “Profit Sharing Plan” (PSP) after a year. The PSP vests over five years at 20% per year so that after 5 years you are 100% vested.
· The PSP is its own trust account and is separate from the 401(k) plan.
