Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Medical Coder/Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and diagnoses, ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and electronic health record (EHR) systems to facilitate efficient billing processes and maintain precise medical records. Duties
Carefully analyze operative reports, clinical notes, and imaging reports to identify all relevant procedures and diagnoses
Assign appropriate ICD-10 and other relevant CPT codes to medical procedures and diagnoses
Verify patient insurance coverage and submit claims to insurance companies
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure accurate documentation and coding
Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations
Experience
Understanding of orthopedic anatomy and terminologyProficient in medical billing software and electronic health record systems Strong knowledge of ICD-10
Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
