Job Summary:
We are seeking a flexible, highly skilled RN or LPN to join our fast-paced Endoscopy Center team on a PRN basis. In this dual-capacity role, you will be trained to provided nursing care in both our Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU / Recovery) settings.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume, collaborative environment, possesses strong assessment and IV skills, and excels at keeping patient flow efficient while providing compassionate, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Operative Care
- Prepare patients for outpatient endoscopic procedures (e.g., Colonoscopy, EGD).
- Conduct thorough pre-procedure assessments, review medical histories, allergies, and vital signs.
- Verify procedure consents and ensure pre-procedure orders/preps are complete.
- Initiate peripheral IV access and administer prescribed medications as ordered.
- Communicate effectively with the endoscopist, anesthesia team, and procedure room staff regarding patient status.
PACU / Post-Procedure Recovery
- Monitor patients recovering from Deep Sedation/Conscious Sedation.
- Assess vital signs, pain levels, respiratory status, and Aldrete scores systematically.
- Recognize and intervene quickly in the event of post-procedure complications or adverse reactions.
- Provide clear, tailored post-procedure instructions and education to patients and their adult drivers.
- Safely manage the discharge process to ensure optimal patient outcomes and efficient room turnover.
General & Administrative
- Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
- Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards.
- Assist with inventory, supply stocking, and equipment quality controls as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN, BSN, or LPN diploma).
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered GA RN or LPN license.
- Certifications: * BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
