Position Summary
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for leading the overall strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of Western Mixer Parts & Repair. This role requires a hands-on industry expert with deep technical knowledge of cement mixer trucks, including drums, hydraulics, and related components, combined with proven leadership in managing multi-location repair and manufacturing operations.
The COO will drive growth, optimize shop performance, expand market share, and maintain the company’s reputation as a trusted, high-quality provider in the mixer truck industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute long-term growth strategies across manufacturing, parts sales, and repair services
- Identify expansion opportunities in new markets, services, and product lines
- Strengthen the company’s position as a leading supplier and service provider in the mixer truck industry
Operational Oversight
- Direct day-to-day operations of repair shops, manufacturing processes, and installation teams
- Ensure efficiency, quality control, and safety standards across all locations (Denver, Phoenix, Seattle)
- Oversee scheduling, workflow, and capacity planning for drum changes, rebuilds, and component installs
Technical Expertise & Shop Leadership
- Provide hands-on leadership and guidance on mixer truck repairs, including:
- Drum replacements and rebuilds
- Hydraulic and PTO systems
- Chutes, rollers, and structural components
- Establish best practices for installation, diagnostics, and repair procedures
- Support technicians and shop managers with troubleshooting and training
Financial Management
- Own P&L performance, budgeting, and cost controls
- Improve margins through operational efficiency and strategic sourcing
- Monitor key performance indicators across all business units
Sales & Customer Relationships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet operators, contractors, and ready-mix companies
- Support sales strategy for parts and service offerings
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business
Team Development
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team
- Create a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
- Mentor shop managers and technical leaders across all locations
Qualifications
- 10+ years of leadership experience in the concrete mixer truck, heavy equipment, or related industry
- Deep, hands-on expertise in cement mixer trucks, including drum systems, hydraulics, and structural components
- Proven experience managing a repair shop or service operation, including installs and field work
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for heavy equipment components
- Demonstrated success leading multi-location operations
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and driving profitability
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in welding, fabrication, or mechanical engineering related to heavy equipment
- Experience scaling a parts and service business
- Existing industry relationships within ready-mix or construction sectors

Pay: $84,540.57 - $131,812.30 per year
