Job Summary:
As a Senior Project Manager at Lenex Steel, you will lead the successful delivery of multiple steel fabrication and erection projects simultaneously, providing technical oversight and team leadership for Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators. The Senior Project Manager ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with plans and specifications while serving as the primary escalation point for clients and stakeholders. These skills will be used to:
- Lead and oversee multiple steel construction projects simultaneously, ranging in size and complexity.
- Establish project execution plans with a full understanding of scope, schedule, and budget.
- Serve as a technical expert for the team, aligning steel detailing with the needs of design, fabrication, and erection.
- Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, delays, or cost impacts.
- Review and approve cost reports, change orders, and progress billings.
- Serve as the primary project manager when a full team is assigned to the most complicated projects.
- Directly manage and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Coordinators.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability.
- Conduct performance reviews and support the professional development of team members.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for owners, general contractors, engineers, and architects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business.
- Resolve disputes and manage contract compliance issues.
- Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Review and approve change orders and subcontractor agreements.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement.
- Participate in planning, execution, and post-project review meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
- 10+ years of construction or engineering experience, preferably in steel fabrication or structural construction.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple complex projects and leading project teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and project scheduling software (Microsoft Project or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Valid driver's license for jobsite visits.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $135,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
