We are currently expanding our renewable energy division and are looking for a skilled, safety-conscious Solar Maintenance Technician to join our team. If you have a strong background in solar hardware and aren't afraid of heights, we want you to help us keep our clients' systems running at peak performance.
Role Overview
As a Solar Maintenance Technician, you will be the boots-on-the-roof expert responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial solar energy systems. You will diagnose system issues, replace faulty hardware, and ensure that every solar array is operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues with solar energy systems.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and replacements on inverters, optimizers, solar panels, and associated wiring.
- Conduct routine system inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Document all service visits, including issues found, parts replaced, and overall system status.
- Communicate technical issues clearly and professionally to customers and the internal team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked service vehicle.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting and servicing solar hardware (panels, string/micro-inverters, and power optimizers).
- Exceptional comfort level working at heights and navigating various roof types (pitch, material, etc.).
- Physical capability and safety training to lift, transport, and utilize a 32-foot ladder solo.
- Ability to safely coordinate and utilize a 40-foot ladder alongside a team member.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and standard safety protocols (OSHA certification is a plus).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
