We are currently seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in asphalt paving operations and possess the skills necessary to operate equipment effectively and safely. However, we are willing to train the right candidate.
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site
- Collaborate with paving crew members to ensure efficient workflow and quality results
- Operate asphalt roller equipment to compact asphalt surfaces according to project specifications
- Monitor asphalt temperatures and adjust rolling patterns as needed to achieve desired compaction
- Follow proper techniques and methods including timing, pinching joints, stopping angles, proper watering of rolls and wheels, etc.
- Avoid excessive starting and stopping
- Be a team player and help wherever is needed.
SAFETY
- Assist with the adherence of the SDI Safety Plan.
- Be responsible for housekeeping and conducting regular inspections of work areas for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Set an example for employees by wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce their use.
- Assist in the reporting of all incidents and/or injuries immediately.
- Report all incidents and submit an Accident/Injury Report to a Safety Officer.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
