Order Picker Operator – 1st Shift
Location: Huntsville, AL
Pay: $18.00 per hour (Paid Weekly)
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Overtime on Fridays as needed)
Job Summary
AtWork Personnel is seeking a dependable Order Picker Operator for a busy warehouse in Huntsville, AL. This position is responsible for safely operating an order picker forklift to accurately select, retrieve, and stage customer orders while maintaining inventory accuracy and meeting daily productivity goals. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced operating powered industrial equipment in a warehouse environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate an order picker forklift to retrieve products from various rack heights.
- Accurately pick customer orders using pick tickets, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems.
- Verify item numbers, quantities, and product quality before staging or packaging.
- Stage completed orders for shipping or production.
- Replenish inventory in picking locations as needed.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of the order picker and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts.
- Load, unload, and transport materials as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and warehouse policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent order picker forklift experience preferred.
- Previous warehouse or distribution center experience required.
- Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems preferred.
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable attendance and positive work ethic.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb on and off equipment throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Comfortable working at elevated heights while operating an order picker.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
