Reports To: School Principal / Driver’s Education Coordinator

Deliver classroom instruction covering North Carolina traffic laws, safe driving practices, and driver responsibility.

Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions with individual students to develop practical driving skills.

Evaluate student progress and maintain accurate records of instruction and student performance.

Ensure compliance with all state and school policies related to Driver's Education programs.

Prepare instructional materials and manage classroom environments conducive to learning.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress and concerns.
Participate in required training sessions and meetings as directed by the school or district.

Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Certification as a Driver Education Instructor in North Carolina
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree preferred.

Previous experience in driver education, teaching, or a related field preferred.

Strong knowledge of North Carolina traffic laws, driving safety, and defensive driving techniques.

Ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to maintain student confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.

Part-time hours aligned with student enrollment and program schedules. Typically includes after-school hours, weekends, and flexible availability to meet student needs.

Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.

Ability to operate standard and automatic transmission vehicles safely.

Visual and auditory acuity necessary for driving and instructional activities.
