Position: MICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Day & Night shifts available
Location: New Haven, CT
Schedule: 9 shifts every 3 weeks (12-13 hours), rotating weekends and holidays/no call
Setting: Inpatient Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Yale New Haven Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, collaborative environment within a leading health system.
Role & Responsibilities: Critical Care & Clinical Management
As a valued member of the care team, you will:

Manage complex, high-acuity patients including those requiring mechanical ventilation, vasopressor support, and multi-organ failure management

Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, contributing to critical decision-making and care planning
-
Perform ongoing evaluation and adjustment of ventilator settings in collaboration with respiratory therapy

Provide comprehensive assessment, triage, and management of critically ill patients throughout the care continuum

Collaborate closely with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary team in accordance with state regulations, hospital policies, protocols, and clinical pathways
-
Deliver compassionate psychosocial support to patients and their families in a professional and ethical manner

Contribute to a team-based care model with opportunities for autonomous clinical decision-making

Qualifications:
Education
-
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Experience
-
Open to new graduates – 6-month orientation provided
-
ICU experience preferred
Licensure & Certification
-
Active, unrestricted Connecticut license (or eligibility)
-
ACLS/BLS certification (as required)
-
DEA registration (or eligibility)
