Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity
- Prepare, label, and process specimens according to laboratory protocols for accurate testing results
- Assist patients of all ages and geriatrics, with specimen collection while providing compassionate patient service
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory procedures, safety standards, and infection control protocols
- Operate and update electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems for accurate data entry and documentation
- Handle specimens carefully during transportation, storage, and processing to prevent contamination or degradation
Requirements
- Proven experience with laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection methods such as venipuncture and blood sampling
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to clinical laboratory work
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and STATE CERTIFICATION.
- Prior hospital or clinical laboratory experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data entry and record keeping
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with diverse patient populations
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, blood sampling procedures, and specimen processing standards
