Walk This Way Pet Care is looking for reliable, animal-loving team members to provide exceptional pet care during our busiest times—weekday evenings and weekends!
If you'd rather spend your evenings and weekends getting outside, making furry friends, and getting paid to exercise instead of sitting behind a desk, we'd love to meet you.
This position is perfect for students, teachers, healthcare workers, retirees, professionals looking for supplemental income, or anyone who has daytime commitments but is available when our clients need us most.
Every day is a little different, but your responsibilities may include:
- Walking dogs throughout Richmond and surrounding areas
- Providing in-home pet sitting visits
- Feeding pets and refreshing water bowls
- Administering medications (when needed)
- Scooping litter boxes and cleaning pet areas
- Sending fun photo updates and visit summaries through our mobile app
- Giving lots of belly rubs, ear scratches, and TLC
We also proudly partner with Richmond Animal League, providing enrichment walks and outings for shelter dogs.
We're currently hiring team members who are available during our busiest service hours:
Weekday Evenings
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Weekends
Anytime between 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Weekend shifts are scheduled in minimum 2-hour blocks, such as:
- 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM...etc

Requirements
We're looking for applicants who:
- Are 18 years or older
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
- Can reliably commute throughout Midlothian and surrounding areas
- Have a smartphone with GPS, camera, and data plan
- Have experience caring for animals (professional experience is a plus)
- Are comfortable walking large, energetic dogs
- Can work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Can lift up to 50 lbs and handle dogs up to 100 lbs
- Have excellent communication and time management skills
- Can commit to at least 6 months
- Can pass background, driving, and reference checks
