Director of Workforce & Human Resources Operations

A healthcare organization in the Sarasota County area is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join its leadership team. This position will have responsibility for employee relations, recruitment, workforce planning, scheduling oversight, onboarding, compliance, and general HR operations.
We are looking for a highly organized and approachable professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and partnering closely with department leaders to support both employees and operational needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare staffing operations and be comfortable providing hands-on operational support when necessary.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day Human Resources functions and employee relations
Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orientation
Coordinate and oversee nursing workforce schedules and assist with maintaining appropriate shift coverage
Monitor vacancies, callouts, overtime, attendance, and staffing trends
Maintain employee records, credentials, certifications, and required documentation
Assist with payroll and timekeeping review and corrections
Manage employee concerns, investigations, coaching, and corrective action documentation
Support benefits administration and employee questions
Partner with department leadership regarding staffing and workforce needs
Assist with employee retention and engagement initiatives
Maintain compliance with company policies and applicable employment requirements
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and organizational matters
Provide operational support to the nursing team when necessary and within the scope of current credentials
Qualifications
Previous Human Resources experience is required.
Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant license required
Experience within a 24/7 workforce environment is strongly preferred.
Previous experience with healthcare or nursing staffing and scheduling preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to handle confidential employee matters
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience with employee scheduling, recruitment, payroll/timekeeping systems, and workforce management highly preferred.
Willingness and ability to provide occasional hands-on support to facility operations when staffing or operational needs are required.
