Position Overview
We are seeking reliable and motivated Activity Guides to lead guests through safe, enjoyable outdoor experiences. This role involves preparing equipment, guiding activities, ensuring guest safety, and delivering excellent customer service.
Activity Guides play a key role in creating positive guest experiences while maintaining strong safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead guests through guided outdoor activities
- Provide safety briefings and instructions
- Prepare and inspect equipment before each activity
- Ensure all guests follow safety procedures
- Maintain a professional and friendly attitude
- Assist with guest orientation and check-in when needed
- Reset equipment between activities
- Maintain clean and organized activity areas
- Report safety concerns or equipment issues
- Follow company SOPs and safety standards
- Assist with general setup and cleanup as needed
- Assist with emergency response procedures when necessary, following company safety protocols
Schedule
- Seasonal position
- Summer season: May through October
- Winter season: December through March
- Average 25 to 36 hours per week during peak season
- Tours and activities typically occur between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- Some shifts may begin slightly before scheduled activity times to allow for equipment preparation and setup
- Weekend (Fri & Sat) availability required
- Days and hours vary based on bookings, weather, and seasonal demand
Compensation
- Pay Range: $21–23 per hour
- Most new hires typically start at $21-22 per hour during training
- Pay typically increases to $22–23 per hour upon successful completion of training
- Training period typically lasts 1–2 weeks, depending on experience and performance
- Pay increases may be offered based on experience, performance, reliability, and leadership ability
- Tips may be earned based on guest experience
- Paid sick leave (per California law)

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather
- Reliable and punctual
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Ability to lift and move equipment
- Weekend availability required
- Previous outdoor or guiding experience preferred but not required
Preferred (Not Required)
- Outdoor recreation experience
- Customer service experience
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Must be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within a specified timeframe after hire if not already certified
- Drive and Park with a Trailer
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift equipment as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
