We are seeking a Project Operations Manager to lead our Estimating and Project Management team while helping ensure our projects move smoothly from concept to completion.

Position Summary
We are looking for a leader who enjoys solving problems, coordinating complex projects, developing people, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines estimating, project management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will personally estimate projects, manage key customer projects, and lead a small team while helping us build the systems and processes needed for future growth.
This role serves as a key link between Sales, Design, Production, and Installation, helping ensure projects are accurately estimated, properly planned, effectively communicated, and successfully completed.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team responsible for estimating and project coordination.
- Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Establish priorities, workloads, and accountability.
- Create an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and team effectiveness.
Estimating
- Review customer requirements, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Prepare accurate estimates for custom sign projects.
- Identify project scope, labor requirements, materials, subcontractor needs, and project risks.
- Collaborate with Sales and Design teams to develop competitive and profitable proposals.
- Continuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Project Management
- Manage larger and more complex sign projects from award through completion.
- Define project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
- Coordinate resources and schedules across departments.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and ongoing project reviews.
- Track project progress and proactively resolve issues before they impact schedules, budgets, or customer satisfaction.
- Manage project communication, scope changes, and customer expectations throughout the life of the project.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales to understand customer expectations and project requirements.
- Collaborate with Design to ensure plans and drawings support project objectives.
- Coordinate with Production to align manufacturing schedules and material availability.
- Partner with Installation teams to ensure successful field execution.
- Serve as a communication hub for key projects and stakeholders.
Qualifications Required
- Experience in project management, operations, estimating, construction, manufacturing, signage, or a related project-based industry.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software systems.
Preferred
- Experience in the sign industry.
- Estimating experience.
- Ability to review plans, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and customer communications.
Who Thrives Here
Successful candidates are typically:
- Humble enough to listen and learn.
- Hungry enough to take ownership and drive results.
- People-smart and capable of building strong relationships.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable holding others accountable while earning their trust.
- Calm under pressure and solution-focused.
- Motivated by helping teams succeed rather than seeking personal recognition.
The ideal candidate enjoys both strategy and execution. They are comfortable leading a team meeting, but they are equally willing to roll up their sleeves, build an estimate, solve a customer problem, or drive a project forward when needed.
Continuous Improvement
We are not looking for someone who simply maintains the status quo. We are looking for someone who enjoys improving systems, developing people, solving problems, and helping the company become more effective over time.
We value people who take ownership. When challenges arise, our leaders step forward, communicate clearly, and work toward solutions rather than waiting for someone else to fix the problem.
Growth Opportunity
This role is currently a hands-on leadership position. As Advanced Sign continues to grow, we anticipate this role evolving into a broader leadership position with increased responsibility for team development, process improvement, department strategy, and organizational growth.
We are looking for someone who is excited to contribute today and help build for tomorrow.
What Success Looks Like
- Accurate and timely project estimates.
- Projects completed on schedule and within budget.
- Strong communication between departments.
- High customer satisfaction.
- Effective team leadership and development.
- Continuous improvement of processes, systems, and project outcomes.
