Auto Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Auto Maintenance Technician to perform routine vehicle maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs. The ideal candidate will help ensure customer vehicles operate safely and efficiently by diagnosing maintenance needs, completing preventive services, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Inspect vehicles for wear, damage, and safety concerns.
- Conduct brake inspections and basic brake service.
- Check and maintain vehicle systems including batteries, belts, hoses, lights, and wiper systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
- Complete multi-point vehicle inspections and document findings.
- Recommend necessary maintenance and repair services to service advisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly use and maintain shop tools and equipment.
- Follow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, and safety regulations.
- Record labor, parts usage, and service information accurately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous automotive maintenance experience preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to operate diagnostic and repair equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tire service, brake service, and preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with computerized vehicle diagnostic systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in various positions.
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate lifts, power tools, and shop equipment.
