Duties
- Assist with asphalt paving operations, including preparing surfaces and spreading materials
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, dump trucks, and Caterpillar machinery under supervision
- Support traffic control efforts to ensure safety within work zones for crews and the public
- Use hand tools and power tools for site preparation, material handling, and minor repairs
- Perform manual handling tasks like lifting heavy materials and equipment to support construction activities
- Follow all safety protocols aligned with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment
- Experience
- Previous construction site experience with a focus on road construction or highway maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of traffic control procedures for work zones highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, welding, and basic equipment maintenance beneficial
- Must have Asphalt Experience
