THE ROLE
Lou Lou's Jungle Room is a live music venue, supper club, and private event space located inside the Lafayette Hotel & Club in North Park. The room operates across multiple formats — ticketed concerts, high-volume nightclub nights, and private events including weddings and corporate buyouts — and this role owns all of it.
We are looking for an experienced Venue Manager with direct responsibility for Food & Beverage performance, venue operations, team leadership, and event execution. This person will work closely with the Lou Lou's entertainment and booking team to ensure seamless coordination between programming, production, hospitality, and guest experience. The role reports directly to the Lafayette Hotel General Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Direct all venue operations including Food & Beverage, guest services, security coordination, and event logistics
- Ensure operational excellence across all service formats — nightclub, supper club, and private events
- Own pre- and post-event briefings, opening and closing procedures, and end-of-night reporting
- Oversee compliance with health, safety, and California alcohol service regulations
Food & Beverage Management
- Own full F&B P&L including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Drive revenue through bar strategy, premium offerings, staffing optimization, and inventory management
- Develop and maintain SOPs for bar service and hospitality areas across all event formats
- Monitor labor efficiency and leverage POS data and sales reporting to identify opportunities and flag variances
Entertainment & Event Coordination
- Serve as the operational lead on all live music nights — load-in, soundcheck, stage management, and show flow
- Manage sound engineers and production staff on event nights
- Collaborate with the booking team on advancing, scheduling, and show-day coordination
- Ensure artist hospitality standards are met in accordance with riders and contractual obligations
Private Events
- Own execution of private events from run-of-show through final guest departure
- Coordinate with clients, catering, AV, and staff across weddings, corporate events, and buyouts
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for private event clients
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Manage venue budgets, financial reporting, and performance metrics
- Analyze sales data and operational KPIs to identify opportunities and course-correct when needed
- Approve payroll, vendor relationships, and supply procurement within established guidelines
Team Leadership
- Directly manage all Lou Lou’s Staff— set expectations, develop the team, hold accountability
- Recruit and onboard venue staff in coordination with CH Projects leadership
- Foster a culture of Hospitality and ownership on the floor
- Represent Lou Lou's in weekly Lafayette complex leadership meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of senior management experience in live entertainment venues, nightclubs, supper clubs, or high-volume hospitality environments
- Demonstrated P&L ownership in Food & Beverage operations
- Hands-on experience with live event production — stage management, sound coordination, artist relations, and show-day logistics
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, event-driven settings
- Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling platforms, and inventory and reporting tools
- Available evenings, weekends, and late nights
Preferred:
- Experience working alongside booking partners or promoters
- Existing relationships in the San Diego live music or entertainment community
- Background in venue openings or operational scaling
- Prior experience in a multi-concept hospitality group
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
