Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team. As a Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within our facilities.
Duties:
- Perform janitorial / custodial duties, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming
- Maintain cleanliness in various areas including restrooms, offices, and common spaces
- Replenishing supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and janitorial closets
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Maintain a clean and organized appearance by straightening up chairs and carpet runners
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
- Must be able to lift occasionally 40lbs.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor of low stock
- Report all concerns, complaints, or damage of property or building to supervisor immediately
- Removing garbage from buildings at the end of the night by placing in dumpster or trash can
- Maintaining cleanliness of all rags used and mops every week
- Replacing vacuum bags as needed and reporting any damage or wear to supervisor
- Responsible for safeguarding access keys and/or codes for certain facilities
- Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation is required or be within walking distance of work location.
- Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices desirable
- Knowledge of custodial practices and procedures preferred
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation guidelines
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning techniques is a plus
- Proficiency in floor care methods including buffing is a plus
- Comfortable working independently or in a team environment
- There is a lot of walking with this position; including going up flights of stairs
